MINTURN, Colo. (AP) — Vail Ski and Snowboard Academy sophomore Parker McDonald says he needed a date to his homecoming dance.

So when Olympic gold medal skier Lindsey Vonn walked by his lunch table while she was visiting his school, he asked her.

The Vail Daily reports Vonn said, “Yes.”

Vonn wrote on her Facebook page that she never got to go to a school dance, so she was excited to go to McDonald’s homecoming dance Friday night.

The 27-year-old is training in Vail this weekend with the U.S. Ski Team.
