Broncos Take On Lions On 'Orange Sunday'
DENVER (CBS4)- The Denver Broncos' game against the Detroit Lions at Sports Authority Field at Mile High on Sunday has been declared Orange Sunday.
Players will wear orange uniforms and the Broncos are asking all fans to wear orange to the game. Kickoff is set for 2:05 p.m. Oct. 30.
The Orange Sunday celebration will begin with the second annual Orange Ride. In conjunction with the City of Denver, B-cycle, the Denver Cruisers and Bike Denver, fans are encouraged to ride their bike to the game. The Denver Pavilions and Paramount Café will be hosting a pre-ride party, starting at 10 a.m., with the group ride to Sports Authority Field at Mile High leaving at 11 a.m.
Celebrity riders for the Orange Ride include Mayor Michael B. Hancock and Bronco Alum Rich Karlis. Fans can also ride from their homes, as all bike riders will receive free admission to the Broncos Barn tailgate party (opens at 11:05 a.m.), an Orange Ride T-shirt and complimentary gift bag. All bike riders without a game ticket will be allowed to stay in the Broncos Barn after kickoff to watch the game.
Bike riders will receive food and drink specials and giveaways. The Orange Ride is a part of the Denver Broncos Game Plan Green program to help promote sustainable practices at Sports Authority Field at Mile High in partnership with Xcel Energy and ROUND2 INC. The inaugural Orange Ride last season included approximately 800 riders.
Pregame will feature Mayor Hancock delivering the Broncos game ball on a bike from B-cycle, a municipal bike sharing system featured in Denver.
Last Sunday, Tim Tebow, in his first start of the season, pulled off an improbable comeback. He brought the Broncos back from a 15-0 deficit in the waning minutes of regulation for an 18-15 overtime win over winless Miami.
