Colorado Unveils Its New ‘Healthy Food Truck’

DENVER (CBS4) – Colorado’s new Healthy Food Truck will make its rounds in Cherry Creek. It rolled out the new food van for the first time Monday with some tasty dishes.

It’s all part of a new program by the state health department called “Smart Meal.”

“We just really want customers to know that they can make easy, healthy choices,” Shana Patterson with the Colorado Department of Public Health said. “We all know that obesity is an issue and we’re just trying to have one small solution for people to take small steps to make healthier choices in their lives.”

Participating restaurants will offer items on the menu with a “Smart Meal Seal.” Dishes that are lower in fat, calories and sodium and have at least two servings of beans, whole grains, fruits or vegetables with have the seal. Visit to learn more.
