"The lone occupant (adult male) was extricated from the vehicle by fire personnel and was pronounced dead at the scene," Jackson said.

The victim has been identified as Roland Smith, 63.

The suspect vehicle then also hit a parked car and the driver, identified as Johnny Lee Hockaday, 28, walked away from the scene. He was found a short time later and arrested.

Hockaday is being held for investigation of vehicular homicide, driving under the influence and other traffic charges.

"There was adult passenger in Hockaday's vehicle who was transported to Denver Health Medical Center with serious bodily injuries," Jackson said.
