Women's Bean Project Kicks Off Holiday Sales

DENVER (CBS4) - The Women's Bean Project is about much more than beans. The organization helps women in need by giving them hands on jobs to put together soup mixes and create jewelry as well.

The Project got an early jump on the holiday shopping season Thursday with its Girls Night Out event to show off it's new fall line of jewelry.

CBS4's Jane Monreal stopped by to check out the jewels even modeled some of the jewelry for other buyers.

The whole idea behind the project is to help low income women become self-sufficient so they can get a steady job.

"The Bean has opened so many doors for me and has allowed me to just shine where I need to be," said Chelly Branham, one of the clients.

Monreal picked up several items and said they were all of great quality and a great price, and all the better because it was for a good cause.
