Pueblo Traffic Stop Uncovers $10M Of Cocaine

PUEBLO, Colo. (AP) - A traffic stop near Pueblo ended with some 100 kilograms of suspected cocaine seized by officers who noticed the car's back end was weighed down.

The Denver Post reports that two people from California were arrested Monday morning after a Pueblo officer pulled over a rental car for an illegal lane change on Interstate 25. The officer said he grew suspicious because the car's two occupants gave conflicting stories about where they were headed, and the rear end of the rented Chevrolet Malibu was weighed down.

In the trunk, police found four black duffel bags full of about 100 kilograms of cocaine, worth some $10 million.

Police arrested 37-year-old Mark Bailer and 36-year-old Lisa Calderon, both of Sylmar, Calif., on suspicion of drug possession.
