Boulder Asked To Halt Reservoir Expansion
BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - Environmentalists are asking Boulder County commissioners to block a Denver water project.
Some opponents of the Gross Reservoir expansion want commissioners to use their powers to fight Denver Water, which wants to nearly triple the size of the reservoir.
According to the Boulder Daily Camera, Denver Water would like to pull more water from the Fraser and Williams Fork rivers through the Moffat Tunnel to fill the expanded reservoir, but opponents say it would hurt people in mountain communities.
