Victim Of Montbello Explosion To Undergo Important Surgery

DENVER (CBS4) - The victim of a massive house explosion in Montbello is scheduled to undergo an important surgery Wednesday.

Pastor Steve Garcia with the Celebration Community Church told CBS4's Jodi Brooks that David Beal has made it through the first critical days after he suffered burns to 80 percent of his body.

Beal's surgery will take anywhere from 4 to 6 hours as they start to remove the dead skin. It is only one of a series of surgeries he will need.

The doctor told Beal's family to expect infections and pneumonia, reactions that typically come with his type of injury.
