Sports Authority Signs Going Up At Mile High

DENVER (CBS4/AP) - The Preseason is over. Now the new signs are going up to get the Denver Broncos home field ready for the Raiders.

Sports Authority is racing to post its name around the home of the Broncos after winning the naming rights for the stadium.

Crews were hoisting the Colorado-based retailer signs on Sports Authority Field at Mile High on Tuesday. They were also painting the Sports Authority's red logo on the stadium's roof. Some fans are not on board with the choice of the red color.

"I didn't know that. I wish it did have the colors on there for sure," a fan said.

"I still like the orange; you've got to try to keep the colors in there. We'll get used to it," another fan said.

Stadium officials voted unanimously to let Sports Authority take over the naming rights from Invesco, a mutual fund company.

The company is taking over the last 10 years of Invesco's $120 million contract. It will pay the roughly $32 million still owed under the deal.

Sports Authority also plans to provide video booths where fans can record messages to players and invite high school teams to hang their helmets inside the stadium.
