BLM Holds Hearing On Pinon Canyon
PUEBLO, Colo. (AP) - Opponents of a proposal to expand the Pinon Canyon Army training site gave federal officials an earful during a hearing on whether to allow the Army to continue using the current training site.
Bureau of Land Management branch chief John Beck said the hearing was not about the expansion plan, but the fight over the future of the training site drew plenty of comment Tuesday.
According to the Pueblo Chieftain, Jean Aguerre called the meeting another example of a long history of the Army not being forthright about its intent or respecting federal court decisions restricting its use of the Pinon Canyon range.
