Balloon Boy Saucer To Go On Display
DENVER (AP) - A man who claims he bought the balloon boy saucer says he plans to put it on display at his sports card store in Aurora on Thursday, then cut it up for souvenirs.
Michael Fruitman told the Denver Post he bought the balloon from a California attorney representing the owners. The attorney for Richard and Mayumi Heene said an Aurora man paid $2,502 earlier this month for the balloon, but the buyer didn't want to be identified.
The Heenes, who moved to Florida, were charged when it was discovered their 6-year-old son was never on the balloon. They had to pay $36,000 in restitution to authorities who responded to the 2009 incident.
