DENVER (AP) – Animal rescue groups are joining up with Crime Stoppers to set up an anonymous tip program for animal abuse.

The Dumb Friends League says the program will focus on cats, dogs and horses suffering from abuse, neglect or abandonment.

Rewards of up to $2,000 are available from a private donor.

Participants include the Colorado Humane Society, the Boulder Police Department, Larimer Humane Society, Mesa County Animal Services and the Rifle Police Department.
