DENVER (CBS4) – A man who helped a hit-and-run driver escape the scene of the crime learned how much longer he will spend behind bars on Monday.
Guadalupe Bastida pleaded guilty to one count of aiding escape. He was sentenced to 371 additional days behind bars.
Bastida was one of four people in a pick-up truck that hit and killed Jose Medina. The valet died when the truck ran him down outside a downtown Denver nightclub. It was only his third day on the job. Surveillance pictures caught the truck leaving the scene.
The driver, Norma Vera-Nolasco, pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide. She faces up to 12 years in prison and will be sentenced in September.
