DENVER (CBS4) – Michael Hancock is getting ready to be sworn in as the next mayor of Denver Monday morning.
Hancock met with supporters on Sunday after a prayer service at Macedonia Baptist Church. He says his top priorities are balancing the budget, creating jobs and hiring a new police chief.
“That path begins with collaboration,” Hancock told CBS4. “We’ve got some tough decisions ahead of us. Sitting together and beginning to chart those paths out (is important), whether it’s the balanced budget, whether it’s working with the business community to bring jobs to Denver. It’s those things that we’ve really got to get focused on and to drive as much as we can.”
The inauguration begins Monday morning at 11 at the Buell Theatre. It is open to the public.
