Hancock Picks Cary Kennedy As Denver CFO
DENVER (AP) -- Mayor-elect Michael Hancock says former state Treasurer Cary Kennedy will be Denver's chief financial officer.
Hancock made the announcement Thursday and called Kennedy part of his financial "dream team."
Kennedy's was Colorado treasurer for four years. Kennedy is a Democrat who was defeated in November by Republican Walker Stapleton.
Hancock will be sworn in as mayor on Monday. He replaces interim Mayor Guillermo "Bill" Vidal, who took over when former Mayor John Hickenlooper became governor in January.
