CSU Hosting Iraqi Students For A Month

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) - Colorado State University is hosting a group of Iraqi students who are studying environmental sustainability, U.S. culture and community involvement.

Colorado State officials say the students are visiting for about a month starting this week to study ways to make positive changes in Iraq.

The university in Fort Collins is one of only four institutions hosting the students as part of the 2011 Iraqi Young Leaders Exchange Program. This is the fourth year CSU is involved in the program, which is being implemented by the Washington-based World Learning.

The program is funded by the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad and the U.S. State Department Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.

CSU officials say the students will spend some time in the classroom, but will mainly participate in service projects.
