Gardner Raised More Than $300,000 Last Quarter
DENVER (AP) - The National Republican Congressional Committee reports that Colorado congressman Cory Gardner raised more than $300,000 last quarter for his re-election campaign.
Gardner was Colorado's top fundraiser last quarter, too. He raised nearly $316,000 for the quarter ending March 31.
Gardner is a freshman representing the 4th District. He's the first member of the state delegation to report a fundraising haul from the quarter that ended June 30. Candidates don't have to file those full reports until later this month. Gardner's fundraising last quarter exceeded that of his predecessor, Democratic Rep. Betsy Markey, for the same time period two years ago.
On Monday, Democratic state Sen. Brandon Shaffer of Longmont announced he'll challenge Gardner next year.
