Woman Killed After Getting Hit By Car In Aurora

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - Aurora police said a woman died on Tuesday after being struck by car.

Lt. Chuck DeShazer with Aurora police said police and fire rescue personnel responded to the auto-pedestrian accident at South Sable Boulevard and Centerpoint Drive around 11:50 a.m.

"Arriving units located an adult female lying in the northbound left through lane of Sable and a blue 1996 Oldsmobile Cutless Sierra stopped in the outside through lane of Sable," DeShazer said in a statement.

The pedestrian was immediately transported to a local hospital where she later died.

Witnesses told police the Oldsmobile, driven by John Sinquefield, 86, of Aurora was traveling northbound in the right through lane on a green light.

"He was alone in the car. The pedestrian was either in the crosswalk or near the crosswalk after leaving the west side of Sable when she collided with the vehicle," DeShazer said.

Witnesses told investigators the woman was crossing the road without a walk signal.

There was no indication of alcohol or drugs on either person involved.

DeShazer said it doesn't appear any charges will be filed.

The name of the pedestrian was not released.
