More Than 546 Bones Found At Snowmass Village Fossil Dig
SNOWMASS VILLAGE, Colo. (CBS4) - There were more discoveries at that fossil dig site near Snowmass Village.
Scientists have now uncovered more than 546 bones since they resumed work just two weeks ago. That includes two mastodon skulls and bones from a bison and a sloth.
The Denver Museum of Nature & Science says each bone is very well preserved and will help scientists better understand the Ice Age.
The site was discovered last fall when expansion work began on a reservoir.
