Well, that’s what you get for doing something stupid.

Am I supposed to feel sorry for this clown?

I’m sure the family will now sue the Rockies organization for $50 million and say its for negligence and mental anguish. The negligence would be something like the 4 foot tall stairwell barrier should have been 4 feet, 2 inches tall. Then the stadium will have to retrofit all the stairs and raise hot dog prices from $9.50 each to $13.75 each.

Sounds like a bargain to me!

    • David

Im with rick may be callouse but it’s real.

      • Carlo

David, what does “callouse” mean? The word you’re struggling to find is “callous.”

Yeah, you’re “with Rick” alright … two morons in a pod.

      • Victor Park

Keep up the good work policing the PC-ness and grammar of everyone, Carlo. D-bag.

      • Victor Park

Watch out streuber…Carlo’s going to bust you for having ‘your’ instead of ‘you’re’…but I’ll sit across the street from the courthouse with you enjoying a beverage watching Carlo report in to his PC faithful, making sure ‘Robert’s family gets compensated well for his stupidity…

      • Barold

Carlo, thank you so much for policing the internet for spelling errors. I suggest that you check your own grammar before leaving your glass house next time though. The period should be after the quotation mark unless the quote is a sentence. I roll my eyes in your general direction.

      • d

        Barold,

You are referencing ‘logical punctuation’ which is not the common usage for our American style. Are you from England or some other foreign land? Carlo’s use of the period within the quotation marks is the American standard.

        D

      • Barold

        d,

Yes, I am from England… where we use English. I typically go for the logical punctuation because it is highly logical.

    • Atlas Shrugging

It was in the “spirit” of stupidity.

    • MR. C

I back Rick on this one…..I am sick and tired of idioits (Darwin’s Finest) making it difficult for the rest of us. Yes, we are jumping ahead as it is alwasy sad to hear someone died like this…and, yes, we are jumping ahead as maybe the family will just acknowledge that there little moron is at fault, However, too many times we get tjust the opposite with some blood-sucking infestation….er…lawyer…..will start whisperinginto their ears about stopping this from ever happening again….it’s not about the money..blah blah blah…..but, give me the money which it is not about!

      • imbrdru

your spelling (it’s “their”, not “there”) and proof-reading suck… you might be a moron as well!

      • TruthMeister

Don’t worry about imbrdru’s comment. He doesn’t even know that sentences begin with capital letters!

      • Janet Spell-itano

ALERT: The Spelling Police are on the prowl so everyone be sure to spell-check, use proper grammer, avoid sentence fragments, and capitalize appropriately. Thank you, and you may now go back to your trolling, and always remember, “if you see something, like poor English, say something”.

      • DaveinDetroit

        Grammar, not grammer. lmao

      • Sheri

        You can’t fix STUPID!

      • Jacques Toupe

So, what you’re saying, SHERI, is you’re irreparable?

      • Truth

Funny how the lawyers always get blamed. If there were no clients, no one coming into their office saying I want to sue, there would be no lawsuits. And lawyers can’t whisper in anyone’s ear – that’s called soliciting and is an ethical violation. Plaintiffs personal injury attorneys, which is really who you are criticizing, can and do however encourage these suits with billboards and ads saying, “Injured? Sue now”

      • Jahnke

Wow … what a collection of illiterates posting here. No wonder our leaders are incompetent traitors, idiots can vote and there is nothing we can do about it.

If you can’t spell, or use proper grammar, your comment is about as valid as Obama’s presidency.

      • pags0668

are i useing propper speleing an gramma?

    • Darrell Goodman

Yeah! People who say mean things should locked away, and have their fingers broken so they can’t type, and have their mouths stapled shut and their tongues mashed so they can’t speak.

Except when I want to say something that somebody else hates. Then *they’re* the ones how are mean.

    • streuber

Poor little Carlo, sniffle sniffle…..I guess your going down to the funeral and then to the court dates to show your support for the family who will be suing the team and stadium owners. Boo Hoo.

    • bilbo81670

I agree with Rick. Stupidity is supposed to hurt. It’s sad that he’s dead for his loved ones that have to live on, but at 27 he was waaaay old enough to know better

    • Myron Monk

no, but you’ll be expected to pay now for all the additional safety barriers that will be needed at Coors to protect more idiots from themselves. Darwin appears to have had a point!

    • Bush Got Osama

This is all Obama’s fault! WORST PRESIDENT EVER!!!

    • Zzzzzs

      well said

    • Stupidisasstupiddoes

Don’t worry, Obama will soon appoint a “Rail Czar” to make sure we’re protected from this terrible danger.

    • Japes Macfarland

A “moron”? Unless it was your son, of course. Than you’d be saying things like he was just being a guy, goofing around, a tragic accident, etc.
You may not be a moron but you’re acting like a creep.

      • Bill Hicks was right

“Wow, I just felt the world get lighter. We lost a moron! I don’t mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am, so that’s the way it comes out. Professional help is being sought.” ~ Bill Hicks

    • MB

If there is a person as cold and unempathetic as Rick T., I think we should pray for him. That is a cruel and inhuman post.

    • Pamela Brown

A human being lost his life, how callous can you be? So sickening these days that a person’s life is viewed as nothing. That was somebody’s son, brother, friend, neighbor, student, grandchild, he had MEANING! Whether he was drunk or whatever, it doesn’t matter, it is STILL A TRAGEDY!

    • dexter

a person died here. this is the problem with the world today. think for a moment, i mean really think about that. we are all one to love others is to love oneself.

      • http://raeunique.wordpress.com raeunique

        I’m with Dexter!

    • DMR

Really, You are one SAD HEART-LESS individual. All you care about is the price of a hot dog. Did you stop to think about the family? Oops forgot that would take a heart and feelings.
Our prayers go out to the family and his friends.

  • John

    Wow Rick…

    • Arr Dee

Wow JOHN… as if Rick isn’t speaking the truth of it. How many times have we seen this? And we can’t win, really. There was this fenced power transformer unit. Fences like 12 feet high, big-a signs all around, etc. Some 15yr old manages to get into the area and get electrocuted climbing on the buzzing high voltage equipment. YES – the parents of this little moron sued. And let it play on out; say the company had concertina wire on top of the fence and at the base of it (where the kid squeezed under in the gravel). He’d have gotten “boo-boos” and they’d still have sued. Yeah, whatever – “Good Night, John Boy…”

    • Silence Dogood

Wow, what? At 27 years old, he was a grown man. Adults are presumably smart enough to know how to conduct themselves in public. Personal responsibility is the issue here — he assumed the risks of his actions when he took them. The social compact in America is (or theoretically is, anyway) that in exchange for vast liberties, one will act responsibly and make positive contributions. In this case, neither was present.

It is in no way “cruel and inhuman” to recognize stupidity for what it is. Perhaps instead of falling all over yourselves to demonstrate your vast empathy, you would be better served to consider this tragic event in its proper context — had a grown man not been acting a fool in a public place singularly ill-suited for the behavior he chose to engage in, he would be alive today. Personal irresponsibility led to this man’s untimely death.

  • anita guide

well, it is really too bad that something so intentioned for fun turned out so badly … and this is exactly why we tell our kids to ‘be safe’ and all the other axioms of life that pertain to one’s safety and well-being as our kids are growing up. Clearly, he should have considered all the options and consequences of his intended actions, as in ‘looked before he leaped’ … but do we ever really think anything is going to happen to us? … so, maybe we should consider that option before making a decision to do something that could turn out very badly … as my 10 year old grandson is currently in surgery to pin together a busted arm from a fall off the top of a jungle gym where he shouldn’t have been either… just like this man, if he hadn’t been up there, he wouldn’t be in surgery today … my sympathy to the family.

  • BB

Seriously Rick… I don’t even know what to say, yeah, what he was doing was pretty stupid however, a guy is dead.

    • david

so BB a guy is dead a stupid guy that might have done something else stupid one day that might have cost some one elses life, gezzzz life is hard enough living day to day with out doing some thing you know to be dangerous with out upping the chances hes gone, out of here,NEXT MORRON!!!!!!

      • Sam

Hey and next time it might be someone you care for. Oh and some basic grammar and spelling lessons should be next on the docket for you.

      • david

hey Sam GO F*#k yourself hows that for spelling lessons freaking c*#K bite

    • hebgb

Maybe we all ought to praise the thousands who took the stairs that day the CORRECT way and didn’t get hurt – yea that’s it, maybe we need to think about this in another way so we’re not feeling bad about the gene pool beinig cleaned a little.

    • jellydog

What if he didn’t die, but instead fell on a child and killed them instead? The act is what’s being judged,. not the sadness of his death. He did something stupid and paid the ultimate price, I for one am glad my child wasn’t underneath him.

      • JB

        Great perspective Jellydog!

      • steelernation

        Not bad.
Beyond the grammar police and the Liberal Nut jobs, this guy makes is through the incredible maze of impossible rational thought processes … and gets it right.
        Hooray!

  • kellie

    Darwin wins another one……………………

  • Omega13

Well, think of it as evolution in action. Now he can accept his Darwin award postumously.

  • Charles D.

    Darwin in action…..

    • Darwin Awards

Damn I was just going to post that

  • big time liberal

im sure alcohol played no part in it.

    • Big Time Neocon

I’m sure that parenting and education played no part either.

  • GD

Bummer. The family can sue claiming that the railings are not specifically labeled stating that “Intentional misue of railings for any purpose other than holding by hand is prohibited.”

  • 8 My Foot

This has “lawsuit” written all over it. It wasn’t his fault you know.

  • AnthonyS

I think it’s time to ban stairways and railings, if not baseball all together. It’s clearly not safe, and if just one life is saved, then it’s been worth it to keep millions from doing what they enjoy.

Wow. Wait. I was having a Liberal moment. My bad.

I’ll take care of myself on stairs, thank you. And if my son, who is 26, does something this dumb, then I can’t stop Natural Selection from doing its thing. And no, I won’t sue the stadium, the team, the railing manufacturer, or even the league. I firmly believe in personal responsibility. I wish more did. Insurance would be SO much cheaper then.

    • 8 My Foot

You had me going. I was so ready to fire off a reply to the first part of your comment. :) Thank you. I’m glad there are others who believe as I do.

      • Big Time Neocon

        Dittos

    • Chris

      Well said Anthony!

    • Jake

If the TSA had been there he’d be alive today …. how’s that for getting you going?

Maybe banning all outdoor activities will save thousands of lives. If we ban cars we can save over 40,000 lives a year. If we ban swimming thousands. It’s all so clear. Let’s get government involved in every aspect of our lives and we’ll all be safe. I have a picture of Janet the Beast over my fire place too.

      • Janet Incompetano

Darwin claims another MORON. Sorry he is dead – we should collectively sue his parents for not teaching him to be a moron. And we should have a day of praise to all those there that day that CLIMBED THE STAIRS SAFELY!

      • Triple A

Jake, don’t give them any more ideas… The Liberals here will not reconize your sarcasim.

    • America the Great

Thanks Anthony and others who have replied in agreement to Anthony. Lately I have been reading more and more comments from news stories such as this one. It is a very gratifying feeling know there are a lot of people who feel and think as my husband and I do. We too are sick of the sheep trying to get a free ride and thinking everything is hunky dorey. We say get a clue people and pull your head out and look around you, and then shut the heck up if you won’t see what we do.
My prayers to the family for their loss.

  • MadMax

Darwin should have called his theory: “Survial of the Smartest.”

  • sailordude

    Was he “planking”?

I want to see the youtube video!

  • MadMax

    That’ll learn ya!

  • John Svengali

There are dangerous trends in young people doing stupid, senseless things, and I’m not just talking about voting for Barack Hussein Obama. Sliding down a banister has a foreseeable consequence, not unlike hanging out a window too far and slipping: you get injured or die. The new fad of planking has led to fatalities and devastating injuries. Everyone does stupid things when they’re young. But today’s stupidity is unparalleled.

  • RSP

This is another reason why they shouldn’t sell alcohol at ball games but then again, if they didn’t sell beer, half the fans would stop going to games.

    • Big Time Neocon

Why don’t we just put everyone in a plastic bubble where they don’t have to take any risks and the government provides everything for them. Can’t wait.

      • Dr Spock

Better yet – put a bubble around everyones home and they are not allowed to leave – they can only interact thru a multibillion dollar govt controlled LIFE TV screen. Wouldnt want the little morons going out in the real world and getting an ouchy.

      • bert

you just described what is coming thanks to the idiot that signed the unpatriot act!

      • Neo the 2nd

sounds too much like the Matrix to me

    • Sean

You must be a liberal with that thought process. Someone gets shot lets ban guns! ,someone dies at a ball game lets ban beer !! 99 percent of people do the right thing do not punish for the 1 percent that dont …Change it back 2012

      • Hazmat77

Stadiums Don’t kill people …. people kill people ……suicide by stupidity should be a recognized mental incapacity.

    • CG

Right, because baseball stadiums are the only places where drunk people can hurt themselves

  • AAA

    All you morons talking “lawsuit…”
Sorry to disappoint, but you can’t sue them for that. :)

    • CG

you are a moron. first of all, they can sue. second of all, everybody who was talking about that was joking // making a comment on how litigious our society appears to be.

    • Homer (get it?) Simpson

      Doh!

    • 8 My Foot

Bet me. It’s going to happen.

  • JoeFriday

His epitaph… “hold my beer and watch this!”

    • BudLight

BWAHAHAHAHA! His buddy got a free beer.

    • Coors it’s in the water

I should not be laughing at your post….but I am.

    • j vaug

      That’s funny! I can really picture that…

  • seanpatriot

    …..AND THIS YEARS DARWIN AWARD GOES TO . . . .. . ..

  • Sir Real.

A darwin Award is definitely in order.

  • FunJohn

I slide on all the handrails at Coors field… It is a lot of fun… Just make sure you are sober and keep your hands ready for stability…. Weeee!

  • DenvrDope

God’s way of thinning the herd.

  • deskboy

Now we will see facsimiles of baseballs attached to the railings every two feet to prevent this terrible tragedy from happening again.

  • j.v.

One less idiot & 4 or 5 less beers sold at the stadium per game.

  • john

this 27 YEAR OLD moron is at a stage of his life when his actions should be guiding youth to the proper way to conduct oneself. yeah its sad he’s dead but maybe he was removed for a reason.
