Toddler Recovering From Surgery After Swallowing Screwdriver
ALAMOSA, Colo. (CBS4)- A little girl just shy of two years old is recovering from surgery to remove a screwdriver that she had swallowed.
Sheila Martinez is hospitalized at the San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center in Alamosa. The surgery to remove the device took about an hour.
An X-ray clearly shows a three and a half inch eyeglass screwdriver in her large intestine.
Her family says she is doing well but they have no idea how she got her hands on the screwdriver.
