1,000 In Aurora Without Power, Could Be Weather Related
AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)- A transformer problem with the Intermountain Rural Electric Association substation at Orchard and Chambers in Aurora has left 1,000 people without power Thursday afternoon.
Crews fixed the problem and restored power to the area by 4:40 p.m. Those affected live near Smoky Hill High School in the residential community east of Parker Road and along Parker Road.
IREA said a few smaller outages in the area remain, including one in Douglas County in the Castle Rock area. That outage is also blamed on snow.
