AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) – A fifth grade student has been suspended after shooting two classmates with an airsoft gun Tuesday morning.
The child shot the plastic pellet gun at two other students, hitting both. It happened on a school bus heading to Aspen Crossing Elementary in Aurora. One child was hit near the eye, the other near the neck.
“We take the safety of children very seriously. This is an opportunity to review with your child the attached Cherry Creek School District weapons policy. Your child’s teachers also will be reviewing this policy over the next few days,” Principal Denise Maxwell said in a statement to parents.
Neither child was seriously hurt.
The Cherry Creek School District is investigating.
