Fort Carson Sergeant Dies While In Afghanistan

FORT CARSON, Colo. (AP) - Officials say a soldier assigned to a unit based at Fort Carson has died in a noncombat-related vehicle accident in the Herat province of Afghanistan.

The Department of Defense said 30-year-old Sgt. Ken K. Hermogino of Edwards Air Force Base in California died Monday while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

Fort Carson spokesman Randy Tisor says there were no further details about this death.

Hermogino had been assigned to the 7th Squadron, 10th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division.
