Ex-School Staffer Sentenced To 10 Years' Probation

LOVELAND, Colo. (AP) - A former Loveland high school employee accused of having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old student will serve 10 years of sex offender probation in a plea deal with prosecutors.

The Loveland Daily Reporter-Herald reports Courtney Bowles will not have to serve any jail time under the sentence handed down Monday. She pleaded guilty in March to child abuse causing seriously bodily injury with a sexual basis.

She must perform community service and register as a sex offender. She is allowed to visit her children. Her husband has filed for divorce.

The former instructional coach at Mountain View High School was arrested after police say they found her having sex with a student in January. She was released on a $50,000 bond and barred from contacting minors, including her daughters.
