PARKER, Colo. (CBS4)- Firefighters rescued a person from a burning home in Parker. Neighbors called 911 and reported seeing smoke coming from the home at about 4 p.m. Wednesday.
South Metro Fire Rescue Authority rushed to the home and found heavy smoke and fire in an upstairs bedroom.
One firefighter found a person near a back door and pulled the victim from the home. That person was rushed to the hospital.

The fire was extinguished in about 20 minutes. Firefighters were able to rescue one dog, but another dog died in the fire.
Investigators said the fire was accidental, caused by misuse of a power strip.
