ARVADA, Colo. (CBS4) - Two firefighters who were badly burned in a fire that destroyed two houses have been released from the hospital.

Kevin Jacovetta and Chris Paine sustained second and third degree burns in the fire in Arvada on April 3. The Arvada Fire Department released their firefighter portrait photos on Thursday.

Fire investigators say the fire in the 6500 block of Union started when hot ashes in a barbecue grill ignited. The ashes were apparently stirred up by strong winds.

During their hospital stay, Jacovetta and Paine had to endure skin grafts to their injured areas.

The two men still face a tough road. They will be back in hospital soon for more surgeries.
