Denver Police Say Vehicle Break-Ins Continue To Be A Problem

DENVER (CBS4) - Denver police say theft from motor vehicles continues to be an ongoing problem and they are warning people not to leave valuables in vehicles.

Police would like the public's help identifying suspects involved in a car break-in that occurred on March 19 in southeast Denver.

"When you park your vehicle, whether it is inside a parking structure or on the street, always remember to roll up the windows and lock the doors," Sonny Jackson with Denver police said in a statement. "Never leave your vehicle unattended with the keys inside."

Jackson recommended parking vehicles in a well-lit, populated area. He said 45 percent of thefts occur between the hours of 10 p.m. and 4 a.m.

"Following these steps may decrease your chances of becoming a victim of theft from motor vehicle," Jackson said.
