Rally At Capitol To Call Attention To Hartley Case

DENVER (CBS4) - A rally at the state capitol on Wednesday has been organized to call more attention to the border shooting of David Hartley.

Tiffany Hartley says her husband David, a Colorado native, was killed in September during a jet skiing trip. She says federal officials need to do more to find his body, which so far has not been located.

The couple were jet skiing on Falcon Lake, which is cut in half by the U.S./Mexico border. Tiffany Hartley says armed men on boats opened fire on them.

Zapata County Sheriff Sigy Gonzalez announced last month that there were approximately seven suspects that have been identified in the case. Gonzalez said he believes the suspects are members of a Mexican drug cartel.

The rally starts at noon and will be attended by Tiffany Hartley, who is currently living in northern Colorado.
