Man Arrested After Body Found In Car

WESTMINSTER, Colo. (CBS4) - Westminster police have arrested a man in connection with the death of his ex-girlfriend.

Police were investigating a suspicious vehicle on Stuart Street in the Cotton Creek neighborhood Thursday morning. They found one person dead, and a second seriously injured.

Police identified the injured man as Christopher Thomas Mainock, 22. They believe Mainock killed the woman and then injured himself.

"The victim and the male subject had been in a previous relationship, however they were no longer involved in that relationship," Cheri Spottke with Westminster police said in a statement.

Mainock was arrested on the charges of first-degree murder and sexual assault.

Mainock is currently being held at the Adams County Detention Facility with no bond.
