DENVER (CBS4) – The best ski season in Colorado in a decade is coming to an end but resorts are making a final push to get people up to the high country one last time.

For skiers who have held off this year, now may be the best time to get to the slopes. In the closing weeks and days of the season many resorts are offering deals of half off or better on lodging and lift tickets.

“We want to entice people to get out here,” said Ryan Whaley of Keystone Ski Resort.

Whaley said the big snow totals have “brought folks in from all over the country.”

Savvy shoppers should be able to find deals for about half off at most ski areas in the state. Most ski deals can be found online.

Starting April 10 Vail and Breckenridge will be offering a 14 day pass for $199.

“With Vail and Breckenridge if you don’t have a ski pass it’s $199 … until the 24th. You could ski every day for about $14,” Whaley said.

Want more deals? Keystone has buy-one, get-one on tickets and lodging. Copper also has half off on most rates.

“We want to really end the season with a bang and this is a great way to do it. The weather is beautiful, the conditions are great and the snow is deep,” said Copper Mountain spokesman David Roth.

“We own a place here in town with some friends but it’s not our week to have it so we actually paid to rent a condo to come up and get three days in while our son is on Spring Break,” Dave Cook told CBS4.

Ski areas start closing on April 3. Arapahoe Basin hopes to be the last resort open this season. It will close some time in June depending on snow conditions.
