Suspects Seen Throwing Stolen Mail For Car

EVERGREEN, Colo. (CBS4) - A robbery suspect being pursued in the Evergreen area by Clear Creek County sheriff deputies was witnessed throwing stolen mail out of the window of the vehicle.

Clear Creek County sheriff deputies got a call at 7:32 a.m. Tuesday of a burglary. Police said a man and woman were trying to load a pressure washer into their car at a home on Upper Bear Creek Canyon Road near Evergreen.

The homeowner chased them away. Jefferson County deputies spotted the car on Highway 74.

Clear Creek County sheriff Cpt. Bruce Snelling said the suspect was seen "throwing mail out the window, three bags of commercial mail," as well as some individual pieces of mail.

The car was pursued on Highway 74 through Bear Creek Canyon into the metro area. It crashed at Jewell and Sheridan and the suspects fled on foot. The woman was caught and arrested but he man got away.
