Rescue Teams Plan To Recover Body Of Avalanche Victim

SNOWMASS VILLAGE, Colo. (AP) - A search and rescue team plans to recover the body of a skier who was killed in an avalanche outside the Snowmass Village ski area boundary.

The ski patrol says the skier was killed Tuesday afternoon. Authorities say they learned of the death too late to recover the body that day, so a team will go to the site on Wednesday.

The skier's name wasn't released.

It's the second avalanche death in Colorado in three days. A snowmobiler died Sunday after he was buried under 15 feet of snow in northwest Colorado.
