Nonprofit Bookkeeper Arrested In Embezzling Case
BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4)- Boulder police have arrested a bookkeeper who is charged with embezzling $160,000 from the educational non-profit organization she worked for.
Diana Lynn Lewis, 44, remains in the Boulder County Jail Sunday morning. She was arrested Saturday on charges of theft over $20,000 and several counts of forgery.
Lewis is a bookkeeper for Impact on Education, a non-profit organization that works to improve student learning in the Boulder Valley School District.
Detectives said Lewis had stolen approximately $160,000 while working for Impact on Education over the course of several years.
A call was made to Lewis' home. Her husband declined to comment on the case.
On Monday a judge decided not to lower Lewis' bond. It remains at $100,000.
