Man Killed Outside Lakewood Bar Identified

LAKEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) - A man shot and killed outside a Lakewood restaurant Tuesday evening has been identified.

Lakewood police detectives said Jose Beltran-Galindo, 33, was found lying in the parking lot of the El Torito Bar & Grill near 10th and Sheridan around 7:30 p.m.

Beltran-Galindo had at least one gunshot wound. He worked at the bar and had escorted one or two men outside after some type of altercation happened inside.

All of the men left after the shooting.

Witnesses told police two vehicles, possibly being those the suspects in, drove away after the shooting. The first is a white Chevrolet minivan with a dark-colored hood. The second is a tan or gold full-sized SUV.

Beltran-Galindo was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. He was pronounced dead shortly before 8:00 p.m.

Beltran-Galindo's step-son said he didn't know what led to the shooting.

"He's a nice guy, respects people, I'm not sure why it would happen," said Lizandro Mercado, Beltran-Galindo's stepson.

Witnesses said Beltran-Galindo got into a fight with three or four men right before the shooting.
