WESTMINSTER, Colo. (CBS) – Friday morning Westminster police searched for a person who shot at police officers. It happened around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Toscana Apartments at 84th and Sheridan.

Police said a Cadillac that crashed in a ditch behind the apartments may have been carrying the people responsible for the shooting. One neighbor said he heard the gunshots.

“This is pretty frightening. There’s a lot of kids that live around here and people out walking their dogs. That’s not good,” said neighbor Tim Hammer.

Police worked late into the night interviewing some 25 witnesses.

Parts of Sheridan were closed for a little more than an hour Thursday night as police searched for the shooter.

No one was hit by any of the gunfire.

the gunfire was so loud. I counted at least 8. It actually started across the street from our apt but the driver picked up one skinny male near the car wash and took off to the back of the apartments. People all over were on their cell phones

no shots were fired at cops. shots were fired from van towards cadillac. and the passenger in the cadillac was injured.

that makes no sense why would the cady drive in the ditch if they were shot at. The guys jumped the fence. No one arrested. 6 shots. The people in the cady ran from the cops.
