October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so it's only natural to want to get involved in the fight against this deadly disease. Thankfully for residents of the Mile High City, October is alive with opportunities to contribute to the cause. Whether you're a fitness nut, a party animal or just a hard worker, Denver has an event that's just perfect for you. Even better, it's all for a fantastic cause!

Get A Mammogram

There's no wrong time to get a mammogram, but sometimes life can just get so busy that it seems there's never a good time to get into the doctor's office. One of the primary functions of Breast Cancer Awareness Month is right there in the title: "Awareness." Each year, we take several weeks to remind people to get checked out and join the fight against this terrible disease. You can lend your time to helping raising awareness — and that's wonderful! — but this October try thinking about yourself for a change and schedule an appointment to ensure that you're as healthy as you can possibly be.
