Top Thanksgiving Celebrations And Events For The Family In Denver

Thanksgiving time is here, and before you sit down for the biggest meal of the year, take a look at some of these great Thanksgiving weekend events and activities. Sure, the Friday after Thanksgiving is reserved for shopping and the big day itself is reserved for football, but there are plenty of other hours in this big four-day weekend and lots of fun events for you to fill that time with.

Price: $39 registration fee, $45 day of the race

For the past 38 years, Mile High United Way has hosted the annual Turkey Trot. More than 10,000 people flock down to the race, with proceeds benefitting the United Way's School Readiness, Youth Success and Adult Self-Sufficiency programs. It is a four-mile fun run starting at the west lawn of South High School, circling and ending in Washington Park. This Thanksgiving tradition is a wonderful way to raise money for a very worthwhile organization and it will even help burn some calories before that huge meal.

Enjoy a special day with family and friends giving thanks and enjoying High Tea at the Molly Brown House Museum. The event includes a guided tour of the house, tea, sandwiches and desserts. It is sure to be a classy and extra special way to spend some time with those that you love, while giving thanks for all that you have. There are two tea times for this event, but you can be certain that seats are limited. So be sure to get your tickets online early.

It's the day after Black Friday, and what are you to do? Well yes, there is always more shopping, but why not spend some time touring some amazing holiday-themed homes in historic Upper Colfax? This Third Annual Victorian Holiday Home Tour includes five hours of viewing beautiful homes all decked out in their holiday best. You'll be touring some of the best gems in all of historic Denver and there will be plenty of live music and lots of nearby restaurants to make it a full day out. In addition, a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Denver Children's Home.

Come dressed as your favorite pilgrim or Native American, and this pub crawl will take you to some of the biggest and best watering holes all over the Denver area.
