Probably the biggest and most well-known comedy club in Denver, Comedy Works has been drawing some of the hottest names in comedy from across the country for more than 30 years. It’s a comedy landmark, and a house that comedians all dream of playing. Comedians like Jerry Seinfeld, Jay Leno, Ellen DeGeneres, Chris Rock, Jamie Fox, Lewis Black, Roseanne Barr and Dave Chappelle have all performed at Comedy Works, but new talent can also find a home on this great stage. Every Tuesday night at Comedy Works you can catch New Talent Night, where anyone who wants to take a stab at the art of stand up comedy can get a chance. It’s a great chance to see someone that could end up being the next big name in comedy or you can just stick to the weekend shows where you can see the biggest names in comedy today.

There is always something fun happening at VooDoo Comedy Playhouse. With shows running six nights a week, Monday through Saturday, it’s nearly impossible not to find a hilarious show for your next big night out. From improv to sketch comedy to classes and more, there is a lot to enjoy at VooDoo. Shows here include a lot of stand up, but every show is its unique entertainment. Check out Hit and Run: Musical Improv, or DORK: Improvised Dungeons and Dragons for lots of hilarious laughs. Or enjoy The Agency for some awesome sketch comedy, and you can even take one of the many drop-in classes on improv or comedy writing. The theater itself is a lovely tribute to the Art Deco style of the 1930s and today is one of the best stops for comedians to visit on those long national tours. If you want to see the really big names in comedy, you’ll check out the Paramount Theatre. Comedians like Eddie Izzard, The Kids in the Hall, Tig Notaro, Lisa Lampanelli, Marc Maron, Patton Oswalt, Margaret Cho, Kathleen Madigan and even “Weird Al” Yankovic are on the calendar for 2015, and the list of incredible talent grows every day.
