Happy Bakeshop was once called Happy Cakes, but they recently changed their name because, well, they have more than just cakes to appease your sweet tooth. Their cupcakes are the best, but the French Macarons are a decadent delight. Imagine a chewy, crispy almond meringue Macaron with a glass of cold milk, tea or coffee. If Macarons are not your thing, go for the chocolate chip or sugar cookie.

The Santa Fe Cookie seems to be making everybody’s list for top spots to buy cookies in Denver for years now, and for good reason. Cookie lovers use words like “amazing” to describe the cookies made fresh daily by store owner Debbie Kuehn. Debbie’s shop is in an alley, just off the 16th Street Mall and its self-service. How it works is you choose three cookies and drop a $1 in the bucket. It’s that easy (and cheap) to get your homemade cookie fix here.
