Top Public Pools South Of Denver

Now that summer is in its peak, the days have gotten steadily hotter, making it the perfect time to hang out by the pool. With so many HOA pools along with other privately owned and operated pools, it can be tricky to determine which are available for use by the general public. Thankfully, there are options for you and your friends and family. If you live in the south metro area, here are some public neighborhood pools that offer a fun time for you and your crew.
Cook Creek Pool

Owned and operated by the South Suburban Parks and Recreation District, the Cook Creek Pool is a popular venue that was renovated and reopened in 2009. Offering a variety of features, including lap lanes, a pool area with ball hoops and water features and a water slide, this pool is fun for the whole family. The pool is open to District residents and non-residents alike, and although non-residents are charged more for admission, the fees are still reasonable at $5.50 for youth, $6.50 for adults and $5.75 for seniors 65+. A fun place for all, the Cook Creek Pool is a great place at which to spend a day in the sun.

With two water slides, a variety of water features, a splash pad and a lap pool, it's not surprising that the H2O'Brien Pool is a popular destination for Parker residents and others in the area. A fun place at which to cool off, this pool has a playground feel that is popular with kids of all ages. There is also a shade structure and plenty of area for lounging and relaxing as well. Non-resident daily admission rates are $4.50 for kids, $5.50 for adults and free for seniors aged 62+, making it an affordable, yet fun activity for summer vacation.

In the southwest metro area, swimmers often flock to Deer Creek Pool. This outdoor pool features a body flume slide, lap lanes and water features for a fun day in the sun. Deer Creek Pool also has a proshop in which pool supplies can be purchased, so it's no big deal if you pop a floatie. Non-resident rates are $5 for kids aged 17 and under, $7 for those aged 17+ and $6 for seniors aged 62+, but the pool offers twilight rates between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m., as well as a family night on Wednesdays. Groups can also rent a shelter or a cabana if they want a place in which to relax for the day.

A popular community feature, Ben Franklin Pool and Waterslide features a sprayground in addition to the pool and waterslide. The pool is clean and well maintained, creating a fun environment for all users. With admission fees of $5.50 for youth, $6.50 for adults and $5.75 for seniors 65+ for non-residents, this pool makes for a fun day out. Ben Franklin Pool also offers lessons, as well as a swim team for kids aged 5-18 for anyone who has a child that wants to be part of a competitive team.

The City of Aurora offers seven outdoor pools, including the Pheasant Run swimming pool, which is located near Cherry Creek State Park. This pool features a new waterslide this season, adding to the fun for people of all ages. The pool also features lap lanes and a wading area for inexperienced swimmers, and also has a variety of swim lessons available for people of varying skill levels. Admission fees are $3.50 for kids and $4 for adults.
