Memorial Day is quickly approaching, but it's not yet here, so if you want to go swimming you'll probably have to go inside. Fortunately, there are many indoor pools throughout the city that offer fun features, activities and facilities for people of all ages. Swimming for fun or exercise is a mere car trip away, and many of these pools have climbing features and other aspects that make them fun for people of all ages. Cool off at one of the following indoor pools.

One of the newer recreation centers in the Denver Parks and Recreation system, the Central Park Recreation Center in Stapleton has an indoor pool that is fun for all. With a zero depth entry, a kids play area complete with splash features, hoops for ball games, a slide and more, everyone can find an in-pool activity that they will enjoy. The recreation center also hosts aquatic fitness classes and kids swim lessons, so your children can learn to thrive in the water.

The indoor pool at the Wheat Ridge Recreation Center not only contains water slides, splash features, zero depth entry and a "river," it also has an area for lap swimmers. Aquatic aerobics classes, reserved lap swimming times and kids swimming lessons are available for those who want to get fit in the pool, and the recreation center's hours are convenient. Admissions range from $5 - $6.50 for adults, depending on your place of residency, and discounted rates are available for seniors and children.

A slide that can be enjoyed with or without tubes, zero depth entry, a lazy river and play areas for kids and adults, the Lone Tree Recreation Center has an indoor pool that is fun for all. Its separate lap area is perfect for those who want to practice their strokes or get fit without interfering with recreational swimmers. There is also a basketball hoop for fun games, and a children's area that has features for kids of all ages. Admissions for adults range from $5.25 to $7.25 depending on your place of residence, or the District offers punch cards for frequent users.

The Apex Center in Arvada boasts an indoor water park with features that rival the most popular outdoor parks in the Denver area. Its 23,000 square feet contain multiple pools, water slides, a vortex, several play areas and spas for those who simply want to relax. It also has a lap pool for the fitness minded and a "beach" area. Apex Center also offers fitness classes, such as Aquacise, and swimming lessons. Admission is $6.00 for adult residents aged 19-61 and $7.25 for non-resident adults ages 19-61. With so many activities to choose from, this center will allow your family to have fun for the whole day.

For those in the south metro area, the pool at the Ridge Recreation Center has many features to enhance your swimming fun. Its floor geysers, bubble bench and water slide are just some of the features that make this indoor pool popular with residents and non-residents alike. The recreation center also has a separate lap pool and a warm water therapy pool. The Foothills Park District offers adults the opportunity to master their skills and compete with its Masters Swim Team, which also trains at this facility, or you can simply take classes to improve your skill set. Daily pool admission is $5.25 for adults in the District and $7.25 for adults outside of the District.
