One of the most popular traditions of the summer, farmers' markets give local farmers and other vendors a chance to sell their goods to the public. With fresh merchandise that is locally grown, you can ask questions about your produce, and there is nothing fresher unless you grow it yourself. Many farmers' markets also offer products from artisans such as soap, pasta and much more. These markets sprout up all over the city in the summer, so there will be one in a neighborhood near you. Here are some of the must-visit farmers' markets in the Denver area.

As one of the Denver area's largest farmers markets, the Cherry Creek Fresh Market is well-stocked and well-attended. It is located on the corner of 1st and University, near the Cherry Creek Shopping Center. Open Saturdays from 8:00 a.m - 1:00 p.m.,  May 7 - Oct. 29, this Farmers Market is conveniently accessible. A large selection of vendors participate annually at this market and it's the perfect place for finding unusual produce such as purple cauliflower.

Since its inception in the early 2000s, the Stapleton area has become known for its close-knit community atmosphere and the Fresh Market is one of many events held annually. This year's Farmers' Market will be held on Sundays between 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. from June 19 to Oct. 16. Customers can take their pick of freshly grown fruits and veggies, home baked goods and even art from local artists. It is a popular event among Stapleton residents, offering the chance for neighbors to interact, but the event attracts customers from all over the metro area as well.

With a variety of local restaurants and shops, Old South Pearl Street is popular with residents and visitors. During the summer, the street adds a farmers market to its normal attractions on Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. May 15 to Nov. 13. This year marks the 15th year for the market which has grown to more than 100 vendors. It also hosts events at various times throughout the season, including a car show, a health fair and a chili cook-off.

Hosted by Boulder County Farmers Markets, the Downtown Boulder Farmers Market is an event that features producers from all over the state. The farmers market is held on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. between April 2 and Nov. 19. While Boulder also hosts a farmers market on Wednesdays, the Saturday market is more of an event, with live music and other activities. Along with produce, artisan baked goods, jams and many other vendors, patrons can also purchase wine from local vineyards and coffee from local shops. Its location on Pearl Street allows you to make a day of it while checking out other stores on the mall.

On Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., from May 28 to Oct. 22, Louisville hosts its farmers market, offering freshly-grown products and goods. Its wide selection of fresh fruits, veggies and more offers something for all, and there is live entertainment. Many local business owners are also in attendance, and some of them take offer deals to farmers market attendees. A warm community vibe makes this event fun for everyone, and its proximity to Main Street allows you to walk to shops and restaurants nearby.
