The 4th of July is one of the best holidays to enjoy live music in Denver. From the big annual shows at Colorado's most popular concert venues to smaller shows featuring local talents and marching bands, there are many different ways to enjoy some live music over the Fourth of July holiday. Plus, since the big day itself is on a Monday, you can enjoy three full days of celebration and festivities. So plan early and be sure to bring your sunscreen so you can really enjoy these outdoor concerts for the Fourth of July with your family.

There is no better place in Colorado to enjoy the Fourth of July than at Red Rocks Amphitheater. The famous concert venue is surrounded by amazing views of Denver, so when the sun sets you'll be able to see pretty much every single firework show at the same time from your comfortable perch at the venue. Of course, it also helps that Blues Traveler plays the annual Fourth of July concert at the venue and the popular band is back for another great year. This time Blues Traveler is performing with Thompson Square, Uncle Kracker and Sam Palladio, for a full evening of really great music.

Back for a seventh year, Independence Eve is always a popular way to enjoy the holiday with your whole family. This event includes a light show and fireworks display, in addition to live music in Civic Center Park. The concert includes music by popular Denver band Chris Daniels and the Kings as well as patriotic music from the 101st Army Band from Buckley Air Force Base. The music kicks off at 8:00 with the fireworks happening once the sun goes down. You're welcome to bring low-rise chairs and blankets, plus you can even bring your own picnic or purchase from the food trucks on site.

One of the biggest and best annual treats for the Fourth of July, the Cherry Creek Arts Festival brings more than 350,000 fans into the Cherry Creek neighborhood for three full days of arts, food and live music. In addition to all the amazing artists displaying their crafts for sale, you'll also be able to catch tons of free concerts at the different stages found throughout the festival. On the Fourth of July itself, be sure to find a spot near the Janus Main Stage, which is located on Fillmore between 1st and 2nd Avenues. There, you'll be treated to four totally different concerts for the holiday. The music ranges from pop to Latin to jazz and ends at 6:00 p.m. so you'll have plenty of time to head to your favorite fireworks show.

Kick off the holiday with the seventh annual Park Hill Fourth of July Parade. When it comes to patriotic music, this is one of the best spots in town to get your fill. In addition to all the floats, there are classic cars to enjoy, costumed characters and several marching bands all ready to entertain you and the whole family with a wide range of marching band music. Every year this parade brings all the heart of one of Denver's oldest neighborhoods into the streets as everyone dresses in their best red, white and blue clothing and patriot tunes echo throughout the city streets.

Littleton's "Red, White and You" is another fabulous (and free) way to enjoy the holiday with the whole family. The day starts at 5:00 p.m. with plenty of food plus a beer and wine garden for the grownups, a bounce house for the kids and lots of community exhibitor booths to check out. The music starts at 7:00 with the patriotic tunes of the Wash Park Band. There are two time slots to catch the Wash Park Band, with a second show at 9:45 p.m. with the live fireworks set to start at 9:30 before the second show. If you have younger children, enjoy the earlier show, watch the fireworks and be home by 10:30 p.m. However, if you're looking to party a little later, stick around for the late show, but be sure to arrive early enough to see the fireworks.
