Most Instagram Worthy Locations Near Denver

Not to boast, but Denver is one photogenic city. It has hundreds of parks and walking trails, distinctive architecture and a vibrant city life; basically Instagram gold. However, there are some locations around the city that because of their uniqueness or natural beauty or cultural interest are especially worthy of memorializing in a photograph. The most Instagram worthy locations below are a small sample of some of Denver's most loved vistas from Grecian columns in the city's heart to state parks with fantastic sunset views the perfect shot is just waiting for you to capture it.

If Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre isn't one of the first places that pops into your mind when you think photogenic places near Denver then you haven't been there enough. In addition to the world famous amphitheatre, whose monolithic walls are higher than Niagara Falls, there are miles of hiking trails through beautiful red rock formations. In addition there's also the amazing and unobstructed views of Denver and the eastern plains from Red Rocks Amphitheater, which means that sunrise shoots in this location can be amazing.

Next to the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanity there is a 17 acre field populated solely by the artistic visions of 17 Colorado artists. With more than 25 sculptures on display, the variety of shapes and angles and whimsy in the outdoor sculpture exhibit allows for uncountable Instagram moments. After the sculpture park, your alfresco photo shoot can continue to the children's area where a great serpent waits for it's moment in your spotlight.

You can spend hours wandering around the 23 acres of Denver Botanic Gardens, taking pictures of the amazing horticulture. However, if you only have time to focus on a few areas pick the unique gardens that have environments unlike anything you'll find elsewhere in Denver. The Boettcher Memorial Tropical Conservatory is one of the few places in Denver that is warm year round. The jungle like interior boasts orchids, lobster claws plants (heliconia) and magnificent ferns worthy of Fern Gully all in the dead of winter; it's great for a tropical photo shoot year round. Outside the northwest corner of Denver Botanic Gardens transports visitors to the other side of the globe with the Japanese Garden, the Ella Mullen Weckbaugh Tea House and the Bill Hasakawa Bonsai Pavilion and Tea Garden for an Asian inspired photo shoot.

With architecture partially inspired by the Great White City of the 1893 Chicago World's Fair, the buildings around Civic Center Park provide a unique backdrop for Instagram pictures. Whether it's the pearly white columns of The Greek Theatre, the golden dome on the Capitol Building, or even the special holiday light displays on the City and County Building, Civic Center Park photographs like no other area in Denver.

The closest Colorado State Park to Denver is Cherry Creek State Park so nature loving Instagramers come ready to click. The park's prairie environment is home to more than 80 species of wild animals including deer, beaver and coyote; or if you prefer furry friends who have been domesticated there's an off-leash dog park in Cherry Creek as well as a riding stable. In the middle of the park's 5 square miles is the 880 acre reservoir. Water activities like sailing, fishing, swimming and jet skiing are great for aquatic actions shots. On land the action continues with joggers and bikers in the summer and snowshoers and cross country skiers in the winter. In the evening however things slow down, and sunset shots from Cherry Creek State Park paint a calm yet colorful scene.
