Skiing in Colorado can last well into the spring and sometimes even the summer months. If your spring break falls near the end of March or the beginning of April, make sure to stop by the Museum of Contemporary Art in Denver to catch "Mark Mothersbaugh: Myopia." This world-premier exhibition features hundreds of pieces by Mark Mothersbaugh, best known as the co-founder of the hit 80s band Devo. Long before the band's inception, Mothersbaugh was a strong visual artist with his own unique expression of the world around him. It's the first major exhibition with drawings, paintings, music, sculpture, film and more to explore. The exhibit is open through April 12.

This spring, the Denver Museum of Nature and Science is tackling the world of myths and legends. From March 20 through September 7, you can visit "Mythic Creatures: Dragons, Unicorns and Mermaids" to get a look into where these myths started, which legends were real and much more. You'll be able to check out several huge, life-like models of a dragon, a unicorn, an extinct primate and even a kraken with 12-foot-long tentacles the rise up from the floor beneath you. You'll also get a look into the fossils, paintings, carvings and other cultural objects that may have inspired or been inspired by the legends themselves, plus you can take your own virtual journey into history to see the surprising facts behind the stories.

Denver may be known as a sports town but the performing arts scene is also quite vibrant. The Denver Center for the Performing Arts is one of the largest multi-venue performing arts complexes in the country. It is home to Denver Center Attractions which brings several major national touring shows through Denver every year.
