A staple of the neighborhood pub scene, Vine Street is what a local bar should be. The atmosphere is fun and laid back. With a variety of beer styles on tap, you'll find that perfect brew to set your mood in tune. The Blackberry Wheat is really something special, but you'll want to give the Chocolate Stout a firm try as well. What you won't find here is bland-tasting bar food. The food choices are delicious and healthy. Part of the Boulder company Mountain Sun, most of the beers at Vine Street are local and that means you'll want to try them all. Hours: Monday through Thursday, 4 pm to 1 am; Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 11 am to 1 am.

Rail Yard Ale anyone? You'll find it at the Wynkoop Brewing Company. A craft brewery started in 1988 by none other than John Hickenlooper (Colorado Governor) and his partners. The Wynkoop was Colorado's first brewpub and is now known for its small-batch beers. With a menu of hoppy goodness, such as Wixa Weiss, Patty's Chile Beer and Cowtown Milk Stout, you might think its just another pub with mediocre food, but you'd be wrong. Freshly prepared, the Ahi Tuna salad is fabulous, as is the Colorado Lamb Sirloin with Mushroom Risotto. If you really want to delve in, try the Mac 'n Cheese. Trust us! Hours: 11 am to 2 am. Kitchen open: Monday through Thursday, until 11 pm; Friday and Saturday, until midnight; Sunday, until 11 pm.

Soccer fanatics love this little British-style pub in downtown Denver for the flexible hours - after all, soccer fans want to watch the European games live! The beer is English and so is the food - think London Pride on tap with fish 'n chips. But don't worry, in England they've got Middle Eastern food, and you'll find that kind of spice here too. The Chicken Marsala is excellent, and the Punjabi hot wings are a kick that you'll want to wash down with a Pint of the Good Stuff. The British Bulldog is the kind of spot where you can kick back with good friends and savor the good life. Hours: Open weekdays at 11 am; open weekends early in the morning to catch live soccer games from "across the pond."
