The Broncos opened preseason workouts with three new players on the offensive line. Now they have four.
Left tackle, right tackle, left guard and center.
That leaves right guard Louis Vasquez as the only returning starter. And he played a different position last year.
So now you’re taking four new players in a brand new system and you’re asking them to block for a quarterback who isn’t exactly fleet of foot.
Not what you call an ideal situation.
It wasn’t ideal two years ago either when the Broncos lost Ryan Clady to a foot injury.
If I remember right, the Broncos made the Super Bowl that year.
You make do.
It’s a team game.
You never want to lose a Pro Bowl tackle. But better to lose him now than in the middle of the season.
That’s the only silver lining I’ve got.
