CBS4, KCNC-TV Denver Becomes Exclusive Local Broadcast Partner of DU Athletics and Recreation

DENVER – The University of Denver and CBS4, KCNC-TV Denver, announced today a multi-year partnership that will make the station an official sponsor of the Division of Athletics and Recreation starting in July 2013. The partnership agreement, brokered by Denver Sports Properties, gives CBS4, KCNC-TV Denver exclusive rights in the local multi-media broadcast category.

“In the Denver market, the CBS4 brand is synonymous with broadcast excellence and we are so proud to be associated with the station as our newest partner,” say Vice Chancellor for Athletics and Recreation Peg Bradley-Doppes. “Our University’s profile continues to rise and having a partner like CBS4, which shows its commitment to local sports coverage daily, will only enhance the University of Denver brand and our athletic and recreation initiatives.”

The agreement is multi-faceted and includes integrated CBS4 elements at DU sports venues. Fans and visitors to DU will notice the CBS4 brand integrated throughout the Daniel L. Ritchie Center, in addition to other select platforms. Both entities will also promote the partnership through their online and social media channels, along with various University of Denver focused communications being broadcast via the station’s airways. In addition, CBS4 and the Division of Athletics and Recreation will actively seek opportunities to co-brand community initiatives, viewer participation promotions and athlete showcases when appropriate.

“We are delighted with this new association,” CBS4 Vice President and General Manager Walt DeHaven said.  “The University of Denver’s sports teams are a great partnership for our station and we are very excited to serve as the official broadcast home to one of the most exciting national college programs.”

All Athletics and Recreations sponsorship deals are brokered by Denver Sports Properties, the exclusive third-party multimedia rights holder for the Division. CBS4 joins a select group of partners with the exclusivity moniker as a part of their sponsorship rights agreement with the Division of Athletics and Recreation.
