Ashton Altieri Joins CBS4, KCNC-TV

Denver – (September 14, 2016) CBS4, KCNC-TV–Denver announced today that meteorologist Ashton Altieri is the new weather anchor on the CBS4 Morning News and CBS4 News at Noon, replacing Lauren Whitney who will move to nights alongside weather forecaster Ed Greene. Altieri will anchor the morning and noon weather Monday through Friday beginning in early October.

“We are excited to have Ashton join us,” CBS4 News Director Tim Wieland said. “He’s a seasoned meteorologist who knows this community well and he will be an integral part of our new weather team.”

Altieri’s education and on-air work has earned him the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist designation from the American Meteorological Society. He also holds the Television Seal of Approval from the National Weather Association.
“I’m proud to be joining CBS4,” Altieri said. “It will be great to be back in a state with four distinct seasons and the unique challenges that come with forecasting Colorado’s weather.”

Altieri most recently worked at WFAA-TV in Dallas/Fort Worth. Prior to that, he spent six years at Denver’s KUSA-TV. After studying meteorology and broadcasting at Central Michigan University where he earned his undergraduate degree in 2002, Altieri moved to rural Mississippi and received a master’s of science in geosciences from Mississippi State University in 2004.

A life-long fan of the outdoors, Altieri enjoys running, hiking, playing sand volleyball, skiing and his all-time favorite; snowboarding! He lives in Denver with his wife Jennifer and their son Ayden.
